Industry Overview
The electronics/computer industry is comprised of five major sectors: telecommunications, computers, industrial electronics, consumer electronics, and semiconductors. Many segments of the electronics/computer industry are interdependent and share common manufacturing processes.
The electronics/computer industry produces a variety of products such as batteries, televisions, computer chips/components, and household appliances.
Many of the parts used on Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs), electronics sub-assemblies and final assemblies are manufactured on machines which include AMT systems. High-speed, single-spindle machines are the perfect solution for the medium and low quantity lot sizes required today. AMT’s customers supply parts to the electronics industry from .062 diameter pins to 2 3/8” insulated standoffs for electrical cabinets.
